2:00pm Course Walk (Liberty runners should be at the course at 2:00)

Open Race at Sectional

We will run an open race at sectional. This race will follow the two varsity races. This is a great opportunity for all Liberty runners! I understand if you are not able to run this race due to the short notice, I know that non-varsity runners were anticipating Jacksonville as the last race this season.

The IESA Sectional Cross Country meet will be hosted by Edwardsville Lincoln.

Early Practice - Friday, September 22nd

All runners NOT running at Peoria will have an early practice on Friday, September 22nd. Practice will start at 3:15 and finish at 4:15pm. Please meet on the school track. Coach Warfield will conduct practice, see her if you are not able to attend. The bus will leave for Salem at 6:30am on Saturday morning, please be at the school at 6:20am.

Bus Departure: 10:15am (Please be at the middle school at 10:00 am)

We should be back at Liberty around 6:30pm. (approximately)

Please bring money for Wendys, we will be stopping on the ride home.

T-shirts: These were sold at last year’s invitational, I am assuming they will be sold again this year (bring money if you want to purchase a t-shirt).

Race Schedule: All races are open races at this meet, no team scores are kept at this meet. There is no varsity.
-6th/7th grade girls race

Distance: This is a 1.8 mile course

Directions
- Take Illinois Route 159 north out of Edwardsville
- Go through the town of Bunker Hill, IL (continue north)
- Look for Illinois Route 16
- Take a left on Route 16 (you are heading west now)
- Go through the tiny towns of Shipman and Piasa
- At the four-way stop take a right and head north (IL Rt. 111)
- Look for the U.S. Route 167 signs and follow north
- You will go through the town of Greenfield, IL
- U.S. Route 167 will take you to Jacksonville, IL
- Head into town when arriving in Jacksonville (keep going straight, stay on the same road.
- This meet is at the city/community park, it is the first large park you encounter. It will be on your left. There is a ferris wheel on the north side of the park, if you see this on your left – you have just driven by the park.

(Detweiller Park is located on Illinois Route 129)

Directions:
-Take Interstate 55 North to Lincoln, IL
-Take Interstate 155 North from Lincoln, it splits off of 55 to your left (signs will say Peoria)
-Take Interstate 74 west (155 ends) you must take 74 either east or west (Take West)(Signs will say Peoria)
-Drive west on Interstate 74 until you reach Peoria
-Cross the Illinois River
-Exit at Adams St. (Illinois Route 29)
-Drive north on IL.Rt. 29 approx. 5 miles
-The park/course is on the west side/left side of Rt. 129

Schedule
-Dismiss from class at 11:15am (make sure you ask all teachers for missed homework)
-Bus will leave Liberty at 11:30am

Alton Invitational Team Results

The boys varsity team placed third out of 11 teams. They finished 1 point behind second place O'fallon. Curtis Burks (7th Grade) was the top Liberty individual finisher for the boys (7th place). 6th grader Collin Dorris finished in 13th place individually!! 6th grader Blake Simmons finished in 18th place! AJ Hankins placed 19th.

The Girls Varsity team placed first! The girls placed their top 5 runners in the meet's top 12. 6th Grader Arianne Wright was the top Liberty individual finisher placing 3rd overall. Diane Frese placed 4th with Ashley Benson in 7th and Sierra Goldsmith in 9th. Emily Highlander (7th grade) placed 12th.

- Please have your child bring a sack lunch for after their race, we will not be stopping to eat on the ride home.
- Please bring a water and/or sports drink bottle with you.
- T-shirts will be sold at the meet (bring money if you want one)
- Concessions will be sold (please do not eat these until after your race)

Directions
Take Interstate 55 North to Illinois Route 104 (Auburn Exit) (Exit 82)
Head west on Route 104 (towards Auburn)
You will go through Auburn, continue west on Route 104 (approx. 25miles). As you near Franklin, IL look for a sign or building advertising the F.S Plant. You will take a Right turn here. The turn is located just outside Franklin, IL – if you drive into Fraklin, you went too far. The Outing club will be about a mile down on your right.
Race Schedule: Franklin is a unique meet, featuring flighted races. Flighted races will place a team’s 1st runner vs. other team’s 1st runners in a separate race. 2nd runners will face 2nd runners, etc. All races will be 2.0 miles.

There will be no bus to this meet, you will need to find a ride to the SIUE Cross Country course. Please be at the course by 10:00AM, varsity girls should be at the course at 9:30AM.

11:30AM Open Race (Boys and Girls Combined)

This is a 2.1 mile course

Boys and Girls will run together in the open race
